The sea "not being where it should be" and the tunnel in panel 1 are two more references to the aforementioned classic Martin Mystère book.

The map in panel 2 shows a planetary grid as it was designed in 1973 by three Soviet Scientists, who based it on the original work by Ivan T. Sanderson (a "simple" 20-vertexed polyhedron, as seen here: Vili Vortices).

The map includes the continents of Atlantis and Mu, as per another map from the Martin Mystère universe.
Namely, the map that belonged to Captain Nemo in "La vera storia del capitano Nemo" + "Minaccia dagli abissi" (Martin Mystère nn. 69-70-71).
The topic is also briefly hinted at in "The Giants of Mont'E Prama".

For those who are not familiar with Martin Mystère, the mystery issues we have been talking about is "Al centro della Terra" (Martin Mystère n. 115 bis).
