Kut Humi is Martin Mystère's spiritual master, a supernatural sensei who lives in the legendary city of Agarthi.
In "Il sole nero" (Martin Mystere n. 292), it was revealed that the people of Agarthi control space-time and dimensional gateways (or Ley Lines). That's what the Mandala in panel 5 is: a dimensional gateway (ironically depicted, as everything Kut Humi does, is ironic).
See for instance the "Ciclo del Countdow" saga, where Kut Humi's astral form crashed a party just to have an astral drink.
